Harcourts NZ is welcoming a wealth of experience and knowledge back into its corporate team with the appointment of Jim Davis to the newly created role of Lifestyle/Rural, Christchurch/South Island Business Development Manager.

Jim has held both roles separately in the past with Harcourts and believes combining the two positions into one makes good sense.

“There is a clear relationship between growing Harcourts’ presence in the lifestyle/rural market and looking after our franchises across the South Island. Often those two responsibilities will mean talking to the same people.”

But, he’s also keen to point out that doesn’t mean his rural role is restricted to the South Island.

“Absolutely not. What a lot of people may not realise is that Harcourts is one of the largest players in the rural/lifestyle market already. But there is always room for growth, right around the country.

“I will be looking at how we can make more potential clients aware of our great results in the lifestyle/rural space, and as always, working with our offices to see how we can extend that reach even further,” Jim says.

Harcourts CEO Chris Kennedy says having Jim Davis on board will be a huge advantage to both the rural/lifestyle business and the South Island for the company.

“Jim knows the rural sector and our South Island business inside out.

“By bringing these two roles together, he will be able to work closely with our franchises, not just in the South Island, but around the country, helping them to develop and grow, particularly in the lifestyle/rural sector.”

Jim, who is also a director of the Real Estate Institute of NZ (REINZ) brings with him a wealth of experience, having worked in many areas of the real estate sector. Having started out as a sales consultant, Jim advanced through office management, to owning his own real estate business in North Canterbury, before selling to moving into the Harcourts corporate team as a business development manager.

In his new role Jim will be based in the Harcourts Christchurch Regional Office.
