The Apanui School in Whakatane which suffered significant damage due to a fire on 6 February this year, is the latest recipient of a donation from Harcourts ETB Realty (Harcourts Whakatane), made possible through the Harcourts Foundation.

The Apanui School will purchase schoolwide mathematics equipment which the Principal Simon Akroyd says, ‘will massively enable the school to return to full learning capabilities in light of the devastation to buildings, equipment and materials which the fire caused’.

Director of ETB Realty Wayne Pamment added, ‘we are proud to be able to help out this local school in their time of need. The Apanui School is the heart of the local community with 410 children on the role and 35 staff employed. Along with the funding to purchase new mathematics books which will enable lifelong learning, we also donated some 30 sports balls to the school as part of our donation to help them get back to normal. We hope the funding provided through the Harcourts Foundation will be of great use’.
