The following is a transcript of the induction speech presenting Shaun Cosgrave into the Harcourts Hall of Fame. It was announced on Wednesday 23 May during the Harcourts New Zealand National Conference 2018.
Harcourts Hall of Fame inductee Shaun Cosgrave (Harcourts Monarch Realty) with his wife Linda, son Leighton and Leighton's partner Caro.
This evening marks the 19th year that we have celebrated the Harcourts Hall of Fame here in New Zealand, the highest personal accolade in our organisation.
We have had the privilege to witness 31 exemplary people receive this award – all of them outstanding individuals who are shining examples of the qualities that we hold dear throughout Harcourts. They are people of purpose and conviction in both their personal and professional lives, and they have collectively left an indelible mark on this organisation.
Thank you for your inspiration and the way you embody the words emblazed on the Hall of Fame crest – “deeds will surpass words”.
This year, we celebrate passion, dedication, and quiet achievement as the person we will welcome into the Hall of Fame has been with Harcourts for over 17 years and is someone who is recognised as an industry great.
During this time, they have acted as a mentor to a number of new sales consultants and given their time freely to assist with people wanting to achieve their goals.
Always happy to help by speaking at conferences and workshops around the country -they are a people person, they work long hours, have awesome stamina and always strive to do better. Their attitude to work is driven by their determination to make dreams come true for their clients. This year’s inductee is the embodiment of “putting people first”.
Over the years Shaun combined his commitment to hard work with his passion to help people and he achieved success after success. Amongst many other accolades, of top exclusive lister and top auction lister, Shaun has been the number one sales consultant eleven times for the central region.
But the awards didn’t stop with the Region. He continued and has achieved number one overall in NZ four times, number one in NZ for total units three times, and when he wasn’t achieving number one, he was always featured in the top ten.
Shaun worked in the residential market, but through the years of 2007-2012, Shaun put his skillset into listing and selling rural and lifestyle property. Once again, he was a superstar and achieved the number one New Zealand Rural and Lifestyle sales consultant award for three years running.
Shaun then moved back into the residential market proving that no matter what market he is working in, or facing, he still remains at the top of his game; as well as having a smile on his face throughout his entire success!
Shaun was proud of every award he has received but none more so than in 2006-2007, when he won the Harcourts number one international sales consultant accolade.
Living the Harcourts’ value of ‘doing the right thing’ comes naturally and working with integrity is the only way he knows how. Shaun really is one of life’s good guys. He will walk away from something if it doesn’t feel right and his manager testifies ‘Shaun is always ahead of the game.’
Shaun has a true heart for his community. He and his wife Linda are very charitable people and they support a lot of the initiatives in Hamilton.
Blue blood runs through Shaun’s veins. He has been quoted as saying he is ‘Blue for life’ and loves the Harcourts’ brand. Always at training, and perhaps seen as the last one who needs to attend, he is giving of knowledge, contributes to others success, has no secrets and really does thrive from seeing others do well. His drive to stay at the top and help others along the way is unparalleled.
Harcourts are proud of Shaun’s achievements. We are proud of your support in the community and unwavering support to the Harcourts team.
Thank you for making an important contribution to the Harcourts Group and congratulations Shaun on your induction into the prestigious Harcourts Hall of Fame.
