The inaugural REINZ Secondary Schools Auctioneering Championship was won by Kerikeri High School Year 12 student, Max Hart. The runner-up was Max Hittle, also a Year 12 student from Springbank School in Kerikeri.

Six contestants from the Far North competed in the competition and the winner and runner-up will represent New Zealand against the Australian State winners in October at the Australasian Competition in Auckland.

This is the third year that Harcourts Bay of Islands Realty Auctioneer Ross Paterson has been running the schools programme. “I continue to be amazed at how much talent there is in our schools and I will be there in October cheering both Max's on against the Australians.”
